Kabata: Launch
Taking smart strength to market
Once Kabata moved from concept into a working product, the challenge changed.
The brand no longer needed only to convince investors that smart dumbbells could exist. It needed to introduce them to people who would actually use them.
That meant showing what made Kabata different without making strength training feel more complicated.
Effortless strength, anywhere.
The idea was to make the technology disappear into the workout.
Kabata could track performance, adjust weight, coach the user, and turn progress into something interactive. But the story was not about sensors or engineering. It was about what those capabilities allowed someone to do.
Train at home. Train when it suits you. Know what to do next. See yourself improve.
Gamification became part of that story, turning data and progression into something that made strength training feel more engaging rather than more technical.
Building a world around the dumbbells.
We created Kabata's first major library of photography, film and social content around the ways the product could become part of everyday life.
The brand film introduced the experience. Photography placed the weights across home and training environments. Reels showed individual exercises, features and interactions in shorter formats designed for social.
Together, the work established an art direction that could move between performance, lifestyle, technology and product without losing the character of the brand.
From a product launch to an ongoing content system.
The launch gave Kabata more than a single campaign.
It created a foundational image and motion library the team could continue using across its website, social channels, marketing and future product communication.
As Kabata continued toward market, the company secured a further $5 million seed round to expand the team and move toward manufacturing.
The brand now had a public-facing visual language that could grow alongside the product.

Let the training make the argument.
